Minutes before kickoff at Panther Stadium on Friday night, a thick blanket of fog descended over the field as Liberty Hill was set to host Glenn in a Class 5A opening-round playoff contest, making it difficult for spectators to see what was unfolding in the game’s early moments.

One perk of moving up to Class 5A for Liberty Hill’s football squad this season was the chance to host a playoff game in the first round and that’s exactly what the Purple-and-Gold will do when they host nearby neighbors Glenn at Panther Stadium on Dec. 11.

When Grady Flinn crossed the goal line at the end of a 65-yard touchdown run nearing the end of the third quarter at Panther Stadium on Nov. 20, it finished off the scoring in an 84-0 Liberty Hill victory over Navarro.

When the Liberty Hill Panthers walked off the field after their 40-7 victory in Marble Falls on Oct. 30, they knew they wouldn’t return to the gridiron for competition for 21 days, as back-to-back bye weeks on the schedule have arrived, with the next game on Nov. 20 at home against Navarro.

You thought last week was rough. Coming off a 76-0 home victory over Crockett last week in the district opener, Liberty Hill football supporters who made the trip to South Austin in hopes of seeing a more competitive contest this week against Travis were sorely disappointed.
